Lecture Commemorating the 1994 Genocide Against Tutsi in Rwanda – Salt Lake City, Utah (April 21, 2013)

On Sunday, April 21, 2013, Dr. Zachary D. Kaufman, editor of Social Entrepreneurship in the Age of Atrocities, will speak at an event commemorating the 19th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide Against Tutsi in Rwanda.  The event, which will run from 10 AM to 2 PM, will also feature other genocide scholars, activists, and survivors, including:

• Taylor Krauss, Founder of Voices of Rwanda.
• Mathilde Mukantabana, Professor of History at Cosumnes River College, President of Friends of Rwanda Association (FORA), and incoming Rwandan Ambassador to the United States.
• Jacqueline Murekatete, genocide survivor and founder of Miracle Corners of the World Jacqueline’s Human Rights Corner.
• Eric Nkurunziza, coordinator of the event
• Consolee Nishimwe, genocide survivor and author of Tested to the Limit: A Genocide Survivor’s Story of Pain, Resilience, and Hope

The event will be held at the IJ & Jeanné Wagner Jewish Community Center (2 North Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84113) and is sponsored by the Never Again Association.

The event is free and open to the public.
