Dr. Oliver Rothschild

Dr. Oliver Rothschild founded and continues to chair the board of Generation Rwanda. He currently works as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. advising clients working in international development and global health as well as a range of healthcare clients in the private sector.

Dr. Rothschild came to McKinsey & Co. from rural Rwanda, where he served as Special Advisor to the Director at Partners In Health-Rwanda under Dr. Paul Farmer, helping to manage a network of hospitals providing care to more than 10 percent of Rwanda’s population and advising the Ministry of Health on HIV/AIDS policy. Prior to joining Partners In Health, Dr. Rothschild worked with the Center for Global Health and Economic Development at Columbia University under Dr. Jeffrey Sachs and at the Clinton Foundation, where he supported the launch of Rwanda’s first national pediatric HIV program. Outside Rwanda, he has worked in health and economics at the United Nations in Paris and in medical research studying infectious disease at Rockefeller University in New York.

Dr. Rothschild received a B.A. in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Chicago, and holds an M.D. from Yale Medical School.
